Just found the first newt for this year in the garden pond as I was removing some of the
scummy stuff from the pump. Often see lots later on when it's warmer.
Love seeing the dragonflies emerge and dry off in the sun in the summer too.

Re: first newtI miss newts ...we don't have them in NZ (well there are newts in NZ but they're not indigenous so if they are seen they will be destroyed because they are a threat to indigenous reptiles.
