Blue tit advice pleaseBlue tit advice pleaseFor the last week there has been much coming and going to my new Bird Hotel nest box. I have been so thrilled as I’ve never had any nest in my boxes before! Anyway, they were making a proper din for about a week, and we could see them poking their little heads out of the hole! Mum and dad were relentlessly feeding them, then yesterday silence. And today. Do you think they have flown the nest? I’m so worried about them as there’s no sign of them in or around my garden? Should I check the nest box?

Especially as they were popping their little heads out. http://www.busheyk9.co.uk
If you can't be a good example........ you will just have to be a horrible warning Re: Blue tit advice pleaseAs Wendy says, would think they have flown the nest. You may have more come yet, so keep watching.
Re: Blue tit advice pleaseThank you. I’ve been worrying all day about them. It was SO noisy, and now dead quiet.

I think they must fledge very early in the morning. I'm quite pleased that the fledglings didnt hang about on the grass like blackbirds, as the nestbox is just above an area my chickens hang out.
