As we usually close competitions on a Sunday, we'll make it one week later on Sunday 26th. September (first Sunday after Equinox).

If anyone disagrees, please shout.

Thanks, Richard

I love this!!!!! Love the pictures - those onions look huge - like lifting weights!!

I haven't planted a thing this year!! Hope to get a late crop of potatoes in next month, and a quick run on lettuce if I'm lucky!

Fish blood and bone and horse manure. They were special seeds for exhibition sized onions, but they really are amazing!

Mine were from sets and hardly got much bigger

It’s great to look at the pictures and I would like to put up the picture of my 86.5 pounds of potatoes (32.66 kilograms) from 6 seed potatoes which I grew in tubs. However I have never found out how to upload the pictures from my computer.

It looks as if we grow our veg for eating, not for showing with exactly straight/ matching / huge stuff that no-one would want to eat.
I have 2 questions.
1. how many meals does one of those big onions give?
2. how come that cabbage's leaves are so complete - all my brassicas are lacey?

I collect all the eggs shells from my girls and crush them around the new plants to deter the slugs and then I cover them with a net to keep the butterflies off and I only use chicken manure for fertilizer ... )t' It is hard work growing veg organically.....I'm constantly checking for pests...but as I've said before it makes you realise just how many chemicals are on shop bought veg to get them so perfect.......There is a picture of the cabbage in May on page 2 of my diary....

The butterflies round here are cunning. They wait for holiday time to lay the eggs, then you come home to a mess.
Yes. it does show how much pesticides must be used commercially, I'd rather have imperfect produce and cut the holes out.

Lol!

We'll probably have that one disqualified for rule breaking, but that tomato was begging for it.

My wee girl looked at it when we picked it and asked where it's eyes were.

The craft box and a glue stick later............

Hi,

Just locked all Categories.

I will sort out later today - I believe we need a 24 hour decider on one.

Would do it now, but early to rise
