Hi Richard, I think this could be great fun. Could we run it until fall when some of the produce will be amazing? Maybe a prize for the most comic or unusual photo and title?

Most gorgeous gourd, twisted turnip, cute courgette, pompous pumpkin, grapevine wreaths and other items, or veggies used in decorative or useful ways, like loofah gourds, recyclable soup bowls or table arrangements....something along those lines? Interested to see what others suggest. I see you have begun below...

I was in Vermont once during the Fall (twas a peeper!!).

I digress. Sounds fine to extend it a bit - do any others have thoughts?

Copied this from Wiki (public domain, no copyright)....

Harvest festivals are traditionally held on or near the Sunday of the Harvest Moon. This is the full Moon that occurs closest to the autumn equinox (about Sept. 23).

My potatoes were free because I didn't plant any seed potatoes in this bed. They just appeared. :-D

That's well done Ilona. I've had rogue Potatoes growing in the chicken run, the chickens don't touch them! Thought about doing them this year, but time and space didn't allow.

Deadline at Autumn Equinox- lovely choice!

May we have a decorative thread- sunflowers, grapevine creations, bowls and other things made of veggies...that kind of thing?
