Could be a good year for apples????Could be a good year for apples????Up here in the North East, my apple blossom isn't quite out yet, and it is still pretty cold and the bees are a bit reluctant to be out and about. However, the amount of blossom developing looks really good.
Could be a bumper year after a pretty average one last year. Michael
Re: Could be a good year for apples???? all my fruit trees are in blossom with the later apples coming out now, bees are about too and ... so far ... no dire weather has spoiled it yet, so I'm hopeful too
Re: Could be a good year for apples????My dabinet apple tree has only just put out leaves. Talk about a late starter, not too hopeful for many apples off it this year. I can't remember it being so far behind the others last year.
Other trees still looking good and my bees must be doing what they do best. Michael
Re: Could be a good year for apples????I have two plum trees that have blossomed and it has all gone now. Wonder if it will be good for them as well

If you can't be a good example........ you will just have to be a horrible warning Re: Could be a good year for apples????I have a quince tree which was covered in blossom, but sadly the high winds have dealt with most of that, so I'm not too optimistic

Re: Could be a good year for apples????
You never know - the wind might have moved pollen about whereas wet weather would simply knock it down I had a peek at my fruit trees and I'm quietly confident for a bumper crop of pears and early apples (providing we don't have a total June drop LOL), but as per usual the Bramleys are one of the last to blossom and with recent rain, not looking good. Re: Could be a good year for apples????My Worcester tree is always last both flowers & leaves. Yet the fruit is ready first. It often looks almost dead while the rest are starting.
