OOOOoh no - absolute worst case scenario you add more yeast - there are ways of doing it!!!

Erm, that's why I didnt :oops: . I thought you might have a rescue for me :-D

It's now bubbling at the rate of one bubble every 6 seconds (yes, I'm sad, I watch it and count the bubbles :oops: )

Helen, I have just been given two sacks of rhubarb, we can freeze some of it but we will still have a load left. I read what you said about using the earlier stalks but is it worth giving it a go with what I have been given?
I would hate to waste it and I think making it into five gallons of wine is a perfect way of using it. )grin2(

Well, what have you got to lose - a few lbs of sugar? It just says in the recipe I use to utilise early rhubarb as it can jellify. :?

Ha ha ha - now you mention it, rhubarb wine jelly sounds ok really, doesn't it? I used to make rhubarb and orange jam too - that was nice.

I like the sound of rhubarb and orange jam, dont suppose you have a recipe mrs Al could use in her jam maker do you? :-D

Absolutely not. However, if you send me a jam maker (non-returnable) I will test my recipe out just to ensure it works, and then I will share it with you. )grin2(

Also, I would hate to embarrass you by giving you a recipe that required jam making skills rather than a machine to make it. )run(

Since I've just started my rhubarb wine I thought I'd resurrect this thread )t' )t'

At the moment its sat in a bowl with a shed load of sugar and producing a surprizing ammount of juice (tastes jummy) :-D
