veg you hate!

Post by TassieDev »

wendy's response to jerusalem artichokes made me wonder who doesn't like what!

out of all the veg the only one i dont like is - asparagus!
which some people think is crazy!
I blame it on the fact that i only had tasted the canned variety for a large portion of my life....... i can now eat the fresh ones IN moderation )t'
But if i see a dish where it's one of the main ingredients - no way!

I like all veg, but I HATE melon and cucumber - YUK!!! Everyone says it tastes of nothing......oh but it does!!!
And you can tell when someone has cut cucumber and then cut a sandwich in half (the same as when some caterers cut the cheese sandwich with the same one they cut the beef with - yuk again!!)
Small steps lead to big changes

Snap lancashire lass. I thought I was the only one.

I really love my veg and will eat absolutely anything else in the vegetable world but I just can't get fennel down.

you're not wrong - what a mixed bag!
i never thought of raw tomatoes as something people wouldn't like - i must admit the supermarket variety are pretty bland and tough but i always thought homegrown tomatoes were yummy

Never have liked them. The raw flesh really turns me over. Yet I use loads in my cooking. But I have to say it has to be finely chopped.

... and tomatoes need to be "de-skinned" as well!

Whenever there is a function on at work where catering provide trays and trays of sandwiches, I usually end up eating just the prawn cocktail ones as the only almost guaranteed tomatoe-less sandwich in the whole batch.
