Re: Favourite Soup - Home made and TinnedHomemade is tomato, lentil and chilli - a very quick & easy to make soup.
Tinned is probably a Big Soup type thing - something chunky. I tend not to buy tinned soup as I never seem to be in the mood for it! No girls at the moment but look forward to getting more in the future. Proud mummy to Hector, a Bedlington Terrier x Jack Russell
Re: Favourite Soup - Home made and TinnedHomemade is cauliflower cheese soup done in slow cooker.
Tinned is definitely tomato. Yum yum yum. Re: Favourite Soup - Home made and TinnedHomemade is spiced lentil/veg
Tinned, yuk (sorry) although I rather like the smoked haddock chowder in the fresh milk carton type ones. Helen xx
3 children, 3 grandchildren, 3 chooks, 3 fish, a shrimp that thinks its a prawn and a dappy dog. http://www.acountrygrandma.blogspot.com Re: Favourite Soup - Home made and TinnedHomemade: lentil and/or sweet potato and/or squash (any combination of these depending on what's around).
Tinned: Very few are dairy-free but M0rrisons have one with chick peas and spinach which is nice. I used to like cream of mushroom before I discovered I was dairy intolerant :( ~ Annie

Tinned is M0rrisons carrot and parsnip, tastes just like home made
Re: Favourite Soup - Home made and TinnedHome made - I make a mean butternut squash and sweet potato, and a lovely carrot and coriander
Shop bought - had a lovely thai green curry soup once from one of those carton things, haven't been able to find it since. I think it was Covent Garden Soup. For tinned, still Heinz cream of chicken or vegetable. Karen

Re: Favourite Soup - Home made and TinnedHome made is butternut squash or veg soup made with chicken or ham stock.
Shop -- never buy it so don't know. I am now a widow and live with my memories.
Re: Favourite Soup - Home made and TinnedAt this time of the year it has to be leek and tater or spiced butternut squash
Sorry, I don't buy canned. Because my memory is not brilliant......http://debrazzaman.blogspot.com/
Re: Favourite Soup - Home made and Tinned
Me too! With fresh home baked bread Can't remember last time we had tinned soup. Michael
Re: Favourite Soup - Home made and TinnedOooo yes, feta, onion and walnut is good with the butternut, the saltiness goes with the sweet.

Re: Favourite Soup - Home made and TinnedHome made, anything with red lentils and veg although I do like broccoli and Hamilton and I have made loads of great soups. Chicken soup made from the carcass of yesterday's roast chicken is great especially if it is flavoured with garlic roasted alongside the bird.
As for shop bought, my current favourite is bouillabaisse by spinnaker, you can get it in wait rows and it is delish. In Holland I had mustard soup in one of the hotel's, that was tangy and quite unusual, a bit like a mild whole grain mustard made into soup. In Vietnam I had their noodle soups on a daily basis, I love Oriental soups. Bah Humbug
Re: Favourite Soup - Home made and TinnedHome made: pea & ham made with yellow split peas and boiling the ham joint and whole onions at the same time - you get soup, peas pudding and a yummy meal of ham and onions all from the same effort. I also like winter veg - whatever root veg is to hand plus garam masala.
The only time I have tinned soup is if I'm poorly, and then it has to be the 57's own cream of tomato I was given if ill as a child, for pure nostalgia and self pity! Served with white shop bread and butter. |
