Need advice............again!!Re: Need advice............again!!Thanks, Linda.
I am glad to hear that you have found something to ease his discomfort and give him a big hug from us for his birthday. XX Re: Need advice............again!!Yet another update, but hopefully we are getting to the end now.
We have now had the full results of the PM on Lexi, all that I can understand is that there was positive ID of ovaries and confirmed what we already knew re the hip problem, which incidentally had got worse because we couldnt do the exercises with her to build up the muscles around the ball and socket. The local vet will be ringing me this next week so hopefully it will be a lot clearer when I have spoken to him. Will also send a copy to Davies vets in Herts just in case I need more clarification from a specialist vet. No disrespect to our local vet because he has been absolutely fantastic. I am still gathering information from vet universities, Sarah is going to try to get hold of the book I have been told to look at too, re infection causing IBD. When it all comes together, which may take some time, then we will make our move with the RCVS re the first vet. We have Lexi's ashes here, Clare doesnt feel able to scatter them yet, but given time she will find the right moment and there is no rush. If I am repeating myself I apologise now, but cant remember if I have written about this before. Bella had a soft tissue injury that would not get better even with antinflammatories, so was xrayed. Unfortunately it showed up the possible start of bone cancer in her right leg. The soft tissue injury is now much better and the vet didnt think that the degree of lameness she had was caused by the poss cancer and he has been proven right. So we will wait, watch and see on that one. Once again thanks everyone. XXX
Re: Need advice............again!!Hi Gwen its good to hear that Bellas is a bit better and i hope she continues to improve, im sorry about the x-ray findings
Our daughter still has one of our rotties ashes in a lovely wooden chest in her bedroom with a gorgeous picture of Millie stood on top. Millies brother my best friend Zac is burried in the garden near the rose tree he loved which is just inside the chicken garden Its a very personal thing isnt it and as you have said Clare will decide what to do in her own time when the time is right for her. Please give Clare my best wishes How is Jack at the minute, I hope he's well and sound Love and Healing Thoughts to you, Clare and your pets Lindaxx And then there was one, Again!!!!

Still sounds a haul until you sort out all Lexi's history etc. etc. I hope it isn't too long. You cannot get on your feet until you have finalised things, can you ? I wouldn't worry too much about the ashes, she will know when the time is right for her. to you all and a special one for Bella. http://www.busheyk9.co.uk
If you can't be a good example........ you will just have to be a horrible warning Re: Need advice............again!!Thanks, Linda and Wendy.
Jack is doing OK still, Linda, so just to keep monitoring him. I think I have said this before but I do feel a little guilty over Jack as he has been put on the back burner with everything that has gone off. I was at overload at one point, as was Clare, so something had to give and unfortunately it was him. We both feel we are able to cope a little better now, thanks Wendy. Things are making more sense and the emotion has subsided a little which always makes it easier too. Bella had a friend to see her today it was one of the dogs that Clare's boss owns. A lovely NI called Max. They played very gently, Max is 8 and not 100%, has ankleosingspondilitis, (sp) so went well and she is now sleeping on the settee and snoring. LOL We had the house valued on Mond and having another valuation poss next week and then it will go on the market, so lots of things to keep us all busy and work still coming in thick and fast, so we are pleased. Also they have valued the house more now than it was 18 months ago, admittedly we have done quite a few things, but it was nice to hear, but not taking the 'pricing' for granted. LOL Thanks once again to you both for your continued support.
Re: Need advice............again!!I have only just caught up with your news that you lost your dear little Lexi. I am so sorry for your loss and that you are having health problems with Bella. Hopefully she is on the mend now.
We still have out little dog Smudgy's ashes on a shelf with his photo. He loved being indoors with us more than anywhere else, so we didn't have the heart to scatter them elsewhere. The time will come when you can both decide where you want her to go. I am now a widow and live with my memories.
Re: Need advice............again!!Thanks, Albertajune for your caring words.
Not had any contact with the vet to talk through the PM, but have unmuddled it to some degree myself, looking up individual words and getting the meaning, but need to talk to him to make sure I have got things the right way round still. House sale has been temporarily stopped because the shower sprang an enormous leak, so that has to be sorted. We are having a new front and re-tiling the whole shower cubicle, so could be a few weeks as plumber cannot start till mid October, but hey ho.... Re: Need advice............again!!Just a little update. Bella is doing real well, still throws her right leg out from the shoulder slightly, but no sign of any pain, she is back to having steady walks, so fingers crossed. Was concerned because she suddenly started drinking loads, had a word with vet, got sample bottle, but......she has now stopped, so leaving well alone at the mo. Have organised a faeces sample for worms which should be here tomorrow.
The house is on the market, shower prob or no shower problem. LOL www.starkeyandbrown.co.uk Post code is NG34 0LF if you want to have a gander. Shower will be started tomorrow and could take 2/3 days, but agent said that was OK. Have faxed Lexi's PM results over to the Specialist vets in Herts and he will ring me with his comments when he has had time to take a look at it. Still not got the book I am sure I need, but have slowly found out more info re IBD and infections, although no proof as yet, so slowly but surely coming together. The problem I have is that according to the rules and regs of the RCVS no vet is to either verbally or by written word, call another vet. That in itself makes it very awkward but NOT impossible imho. Hope everyone and their animals are OK.
Re: Need advice............again!!Hi Gwen its really good to hear how well Bella is and an obvious releif for you about the drinking, I know what you mean when you say your leaving it
I hope you get all you need and get everything sorted out regarding the vets and Lexi, and i wish you luck it wont be easy but something tells me thats never bothered you iykwim Iv had a look for your house but couldnt find it and i was going to have a throught the keyhole moment, ah well serves me right for being nosey All our animals are well and our Fox really benefited from his bute, we can get it on repeat now as both boys have leg probs and need it on and off. Hope Jack is keeping well too Lindaxx And then there was one, Again!!!!

Clare uses a joint supplement for Jack, will ask her what it is because she has noticed when she stopped using it his problem was worse. It may or may not help, but maybe worth a try for you.
LOL to the 'through the keyhole'. If you go on the site, put the postcode in, then press properties listing you should get it. 'If' I cannot get the outcome I want re the first vet then I will probably be THE first OAP to be walking up and down outside said vets with a sandwich board on........just stating the true facts though, you understand. The walking up and down is so that I dont get picked up for loitering. LOL I can see the headlines now, 'OAP gets arrested for harassing vets'.
Re: Need advice............again!! Gwen you dont half give me a giggle and as long as the headlines dont read 'OAP gets arrested for streetwalking' you should be ok
The suppliment might be worth a try, as you say and what we have also found is that some things we have tried that have worked for others havnt made much difference for ours but after all they are all individuals. Thanks Gwen Lindaxx And then there was one, Again!!!!

The supplement Clare gets is Cortavet, it is not cheap, but she has found it cheaper on line from, think its called 'Medic Animal' and is roughly £65 - £68. Remember though we have a hulking great Shire who needs quite a lot, so should work out cheaper for a smaller/normal size horse. LOL
Re: Need advice............again!!Ah Gwen i found your house its really lovely, and the land and outside would be the clincher for me, to be able to have our horses at home with us has always been a dream, if only we could it would be lovely.
They are only a few minutes away and although we are on the edge of a town near the motorway because some of the fields are on a hill we can sometimes see thenm out of our back garden We have had Cortaflex before and I cant remember the last one we had I will tell our Jo shes the one who sorts the stuff out and i just help pay the bills Lindaxx And then there was one, Again!!!!
