Emergency rush to the vets

Post by tamk23 »

I've got a diabetic cat, I have to inject him twice a day. This morning he looked poorly and wouldn't stop drinking so gave him his insulin and he ate his food.

An hour later he started fitting and went into a coma {cry}

I put honey on his gums and in his mouth and throw him in a cat box and drove to the vets at 900mph!

Now it's a wait and see what happens, fingers crossed he makes it.

Thank you all for your kind words {hug}

Just phoned the vets, chance is still on a drip but up and eating and if all ok I can collect him later today )c( (think he now has 7 lives left - he went into a coma 2 years ago!)

Vets thought I had given him a double dose of insulin {warn} so put them right but it's a mystery as to why he looked like he really needed it to then going the other way >shrug<

Not good news - just heard back from the vets Chance has advanced kidney disease and the kindest thing is have him put to sleep. They said it's not possible to control his diabetes with kidney disease thrown in as well {cry}

Taking kids in to vets later to say good bye and night to him xx
