We've got a Lodger this weekend

Post by bluebell »

Little stray puppy has come to stay with us for the weekend. He's a happy little chap, very friendly and ever so cute. Looks like a dachsund x JRT.

Hubby has come home this afternoon and asked what he is called - unfortunately as the stray puppy doesn't yet talk he hasn't been able to tell us his name.

He is is Monty's crate this afternoon, has a fantastic appetite. Had a bit of a play with Monty and a good sniff round.

Will have to wait and see what happens. :?

Do you know that is a new 'designer' breed I have one at the club. It is called a Daxi-Jack !!! Probably cost a fortune.
Bless him I hope he finds his parents soon.

Haven't got round to doing a piccie of pup. He is asleep with Monty at the moment. I got in touch with our local dog warden this morning, no one as yet has come forward, surely you would check with local vets, dog wardens, etc?

It's going to be hard to say goodbye if anyone turns up for him. Although I have to say i did have to get up during the night to him, Wendy I know you will tell me I'm wrong  but I picked him up and he fell asleep in my arms. Couldn't leave him so tucked up with him on our settee. Got woken up this morning by hubby and Monty wondering what was going on.

I hope you can keep him, he sounds sooper dooper! Whoever lost him, was very careless. When Felix came to us, I put adverts in the pet shop, vets surgery and local paper, no one rang, so he is still with us. Their loss our gain!! (f+ )t'

Take to vet and check for a microchip. Advertise and if you get no response, love him to bits.

Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.

Already done that, Mike.

I work at a vets and believe it or not he actually walked into our surgery - not one of our patients, that's for sure.

We checked him with the scanner - no microchip, no collar.

It was really weird - my colleague was walking out, opened the door and he just sort of walked in!!!

Oh, Mike, sorry!!! Forgot to say the done it bit, relates to the microchip - trouble is very easy to fall in love with him, he is a sweetie.

Mind you Chris wonders when he takes him for a walk how such a little sweet dog can shall we say - leave a considerable bundle to go into a doggy poo bag!

Sounds like he has got his paws well and truly under the table!

I love Daxies, we had one when I was growing up and I still have a huge soft spot for them.

Would love one, but they dont make great agility dogs, which my next one is going to be! Will have to settle for a Labradoodle from rescue instead.

Have you named him yet?? It is fatal to name them, they usually stay then (and I speak from experience!)
Neutered pets are happy pets! Please spay or neuter your pets. There are thousands in rescue waiting for loving homes, and not enough people to take them on.

The Lodger is still with us! :?

He is sweet, er, just needs house-training! Chris cannot believe such a small thing can make such an awful smell or pass so much 'stuff'.

He is teaching Monty bad tricks, no it isn't a good idea to lift a leg on furniture. Monty is in the dog house with the pup.

The pup has been named Jasper.

He thinks Monty's bed is his, Monty's toys are his and Monty's hide bone is his - Monty is very tolerant, only barked at Jasper once!

Jasper has well and truly got his feet under the table (or dog bowl) here.

I have booked him in to have a little operation that boy dogs get. Next week I will be chewing my finger nails waiting for him coming back into surgery after his little snip. :?
