If you can't be a good example........ you will just have to be a horrible warning Aim to lose 1lb a week. I know it isn't a lot and you will lose more to start with. You want a steady loss. If it all falls off quickly, it means you are not eating sensibly and once you get back to eating 'normal' food it will go on just as quickly
Good luck to your OH Wendy http://www.busheyk9.co.uk
If you can't be a good example........ you will just have to be a horrible warning Thanks wendy, ok 1lb a week would be great!
He has real problems having any progressive loss - seems to lose a couple kilos and then put back on again for no apparent reason, so really just yo-yo'ing around! I think he's one of the unfortunate people who is going to have to do a LOT of exercise to get any results. Changing diet alone seems to have little if any effect. Still very interested in applying any and all tips on diet though! If you buy any products. Look for how low the fats are and I aim for anything under 0.5 per 100 g. But a man may need more.
Also if something says low fat it may be high in calories so you need to check that also. Best is to try to eat home made, processed doesn't do you a lot of good. Aim for a colourful plate, not all brown. If you get a mix of colours you should get a mix of vitamins etc. Wendy http://www.busheyk9.co.uk

I know a lot of people will disagree with this but - I posted that my ex OH lost 3st in 3 months. He did not eat any pork, it is no good saying that lean pork is OK. Pork is the most fatty of meats and just because the bacon is grilled the meat is still fatty. He had lots of chicken (sorry), fish and small portions of red meat - again not too much lamb. He had a daily beer allowance which he saved till the weekends. There were lots of vegetables especially tomatoes also cottage cheese instead of cheddar. Puddings came in the form of fresh/stewed fruit with a small amount of custard. In those days there was no skimmed milk so milk was limited to 1/2 pt per day. He cut his sugar from 2 teaspoonfuls to a half. The important thing here is that he was not hungry. I think that the 'low fat' items have to be watched as a lot of what I see put into them are like chemistry sets and sometimes extra sugar or salt is added to give 'taste'. Best wishes to you all with the 'loss' Anna Daves wieght loss and othersHi Gang, The very best of luck to you all! I am a large guy and happy to be that way so will not be trying to loose any wieght. atb ged 'Ask not what can your Country do for you, rather,What can you do for your Country'

Quick quote from the 'other' weigh loss thread... It will be much easier to check on weight loss (or gain) if this thread is kept just for the weights as Dave suggested?? please? "Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid"
Albert Einstein OK Tina!! But just one thing!
I have just started slimming world after a lapse of a year or so. Lost 2 stone originally, and just got fed up of it after 6 years - now raring to go again and have lost 3.5lb in the last 2 weeks. It's a really good plan - without feeling deprived! Small steps lead to big changes
current weight: 10st12
target weight: 9st7 strategy: I can have 1600-1700 calories a day distributed however I want I have a couple of excel spreadsheets (I'm a geek) to work out how many calories there are in home made meals and to work out my calorie intake for the day. If anyone wants them, pm me with your email address. There's no cure for stupidity.
