Loving home needed for 2 x Light Sussex Hens

Post by nettles »

I have to move, marriage break up, and my new home has a tiny garden which would be unfair on dear Phoebe and Lulu, they are used to free ranging in a 100ft by 30ft garden, very protected. They only started laying eggs a few weeks ago, and my new garden is only a small fraction of what they have now. They are sweet girls. and I don't want to part with them, but I feel it would be kinder than making them manage in such a restricted space, if anyone can help, I would really appreciate it, am willing to bring them to you, within a 3 hour drive.

I am in bits over this, and will only consider a similar environment to what they have now, or better. Sorry.

Steve, its the same down here in SW, everything waterlogged. Distance isnt the problem, but will wait a little longer in case someone nearer can assist.

They might like a boy, Lulu been a bit broody lately, lol

Thanks

I'm near Newbury and urgently seeking 2 hens as one of mine has a tumour. It's only a small flock - currently a buff orpington, a marans and the wyandotte, Ruth, who is poorly. They free range all day, the garden is secure and basically the chickens are in charge of gardening - but they're not great at garden design!
