Goodnight Mr. Tom

Post by Lillia »

A very good and heartwarming story~
(There are three parts)

Set in a small English town at the start of WWII, Goodnight Mister Tom is based on Michelle Magorian's novel about a cantankerous WWI veteran named Tom Oakley (John Thaw), who, against his will, is paired with a London orphan named Willie Beech. The story is based around the relationship which develops between Tom and Willie, who is sent to him after the children of London were evacuated in preparation for the expected German bombings........more

I have watched a fewtimes as well, it`s on television either this week or next, can`t remember which channel. A sad but heartwarming story and John Thaw excellent.

Same here - love it - one of the best things John Thaw did.

Really enjoyed it although heartbreaking in parts. John Thaw fantastic as he always was.

I love it too, John Thaw is sadly missed. I also love the 1940's sets and clothes in the film, most nostalgic.

This is one of those programes that you can watch over and over again and never get bored of it.
John Thaw was such a good actor in everything he did and is still sadly missed.
