The Girl's new mansion...

Post by Organised Chaos »

Thought I'd put up a few pics of the latest project..
My coop was getting a little cramped of late, so I decided to build a replacement which will give room for further expansion! (I'm thinking of doing some breeding next year as well, so need some space. Bad case of Chickinitus) :oops:

Frame goes up, it's raised due to the possibility of flooding:

Ever patient Stepfather finishing the flooring:

Panelling nearly done:

The panelling, roof & guttering were finished yesterday, just need to hang the door and then I can think about perches etc. I'll stick pics up soon. I've got a 1000 litre IBC coming sometime this week, so I'll steal Gareth's idea and clad it with reclaimed pallet timber to make it pretty... )w(

Looking forward to seeing it finished. It looks a good size for expanding further.
I am now a widow and live with my memories.

Blimey, that's a rough area you live in if you need bouncers in your coop.

Iggy, Muppet, Ruby & Foggy check it out...

That's Ruby, one of my ex batts. She's a nosey chicken and the best character out of the lot, she never goes to bed with the others but now waits til I go to lock the coop then comes running up and sits on my feet cooing until I pick her up and put her to bed. Thought there was something wrong with her at first, but apparently she's just a bit strange! {hug}

We're lucky to have such a lot of space here, loads of free ranging for the girls! This was just wasteland before the choocks took over, I'd hoped to seed it with wildflower meadow seed and turn it into a nature trail for the kids but I think that would be a lost cause now )grin2(
