Things haven’t been going very well for us here, I had to have emergency surgery for an ectopic pregnancy (which didn’t go well leaving me quite ill and looking at a 6 – 12 week recovery period)

In this time hubby is looking after the children and the animals and the house and working, (yes, I feel completely useless).
And I'm just looking for practical time saving tips for him to use when caring for the chickens.
They have stopped laying totally now due to the light I suppose (is this normal?

Many people say to put a load of bedding and chipping down and then just layer it up, there is a name for this method but I cant remember it.
But I'm not keen on this, especially if I don’t know if its going to work.
Should we just poop pick daily and then change the coop bedding each week? I can manage this when I'm more steady on my feet, its just the mucking out and bending/carrying I cant do.
On the plus side the new girls and the ‘old’ girls are best of friends now and some how hubby has stole my chickens and they now run to him and jump up to the fence and eat out his hand!
Id be greatful for any ideas please x
