I think I spoke too soon - after going into full production especially over the Christmas break when most of my customers didn't need eggs, the girls have decided to slow down and the tally has dropped down a bit when I need them now. Maybe the girls have missed my frequent visits over the holidays now that I'm back to work LOL

I am now down to 1 or 2 a day - which typically has coincided with increased demand from my egg customers! }hairout{

I am getting around 9-10 eggs a day. Too many for us so I give them away.

Getting 3 a day from 4 laying hens - it's the two new girls that I got in late summer that have laid consistently all though the winter virtually everyday. Think getting new girls towards the end of summer is probably a good plan, they then come into lay when the older girls tend to go "off" a bit.

Hi, mine were laying fine, but did spoil them, put lots of paper bubble rap, (yes bubble rap) covered with paper sawdust and lots of hay, I took out their perches and nest divider, was just a big cosy nest box, they loved it, worked for me, I also made sagetti with cabbage, corn, and give them that every evening, suppose to help keep them warm, I just made a big pot, and froze alot in containers, So only made every couple of weeks, costs about 20p to 50p, if you get shop brand spagetti. >ch<
