How many Chickens have you ? - POLL
How many Chickens have you ? - POLLAs you know, we do this once in a while just to see how many Chickens Members have.
This can include Bantams. It would also be interesting to write how many you started with and how that's increased, if it has of course. Richard New Member? Get more from the Forum and join in 'Members Chat' - you're very welcome
Re: How many Chickens have you ? - POLLWell started with 6 , but before I got them I gained 5 proceed to get to 49 beginning of year now down to 38 with 3 additional girls on Sunday to put up to 41.
3 boys plus 1 bats for both teams 34 girls of all colours and breeds .38 in total. Love them all. Bob Hope you are well Richard.
Re: How many Chickens have you ? - POLLI started with the recommended 3 and grew to 9. I have 7 at the moment due to losing a couple but I would like to add a few more in the spring. I can't now imagine only having 3 and as the run has grown in size with the number of girls I would always have as many as my space allows. Chicken keeping is very addictive.

Re: How many Chickens have you ? - POLLStarted with 6 ex batty's....one went broody so I got her some eggs and it all went crazy after that LOL!!
Now no idea on chickens if I'm honest ...somewhere in the region of 50+ and on top of that the turkeys ¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨)✰

Re: How many Chickens have you ? - POLLWe have three hens: Agatha, Betty and Dolly. They are my first experience of having hens, though my husband's family had hens when he was a child. Our girls have been with us since end of April
Re: How many Chickens have you ? - POLLInteresting.
I like others started with 3 and at one time went up to 35, mainly Ex-Batts but a few posh ones as well !! I then evolved it down a bit and for the last 5 years it averaged 7. Richard New Member? Get more from the Forum and join in 'Members Chat' - you're very welcome
Re: How many Chickens have you ? - POLLI started a few years back with 8 ex batts, went for 6 but they talked me into 8. They have all now gone.
We have moved since then so need to build a hen house and then a run and I will have more chooks, but not much room where we are now, so will be limited.
Re: How many Chickens have you ? - POLLStarted with 3 and then to 5. Now only 1 spoilt girl left and she will be my last one. Enjoyed having them immensly.
I am now a widow and live with my memories.
Re: How many Chickens have you ? - POLLStarted with five, rapidly went to ten. We have had a rolling average of @ 20 during the summer months consisting of broilers and young chicks brought in to increase our number of egg layers unfortunately we struck out again this year with most of the young chicks being cockerels, still they are great fun to raise and they keep the freezer full!!!
Oops.... I should not forget to mention our two new geese. "Not all those who wander are lost"
Re: How many Chickens have you ? - POLL9 laying hens and 6 bantams.
Re: How many Chickens have you ? - POLLWhy does the poll say
you may select 4 options and where is the 'none any more' (or the 'none yet') Dance caller. http://mo-dance-caller.blogspot.co.uk/p/what-i-do.html

Re: How many Chickens have you ? - POLLBlimey Sandra !!!!
Mo - I think the 4 must have been in the memory on another poll and I didn't notice it - I've changed it ! Didn't think about the not yets and did have, but it's more about the current numbers. Richard New Member? Get more from the Forum and join in 'Members Chat' - you're very welcome
Re: How many Chickens have you ? - POLLHi I would be interested in knowing what the cost of boarding chickens is .
Per chicken? - Per pen -per day/week . It would give an idea across the country what should be available and rates. My girls and boys cost me 50-80 pounds a week depending on pens. Bob Re: How many Chickens have you ? - POLLI charge £35 a week for a pen and you can put up to 10 chickens in the pen and if its a stay for less than a week its £6 a night per pen with a minimum charge of £20 per stay.
