Found our first egg today,, yipeeee

Is it normal for the fist egg to be VERY small??

Yay!!! first eggs are always SO eggciting )app(

Perfectly normal for the first few to be very small, they'll gradually get bigger over the next few weeks :-D

Yes, they can be small, sometimes odd shapes or wrinkled too!

They get the hang of it eventually!

Mine was quite wee too but perfectly formed. Have just given my chooks a lovely hot mash with goodies in it as a special thank you.

Yes it was perfectly formed, just a tad small.

had the egg tonight, fried.

Very pale, and very taste-less +confused+

Is this normal when they start out, or am i missing/not feeding them something i should be +confused+

She is just a baby and learning to lay.
As long as you are providing her with layers pellets all day then she is getting everything she needs.
Then just give her time...
PS: Don't tell her her first egg was tasteless, she will be devastated after all her efforts +elf+

Layers all day, hand full of mixed corn for supper, and fresh veg and fruit.
(and weeds flowers grass and sunflowers when in garden)
