Whats the one thing you hate about keeping chickens ?
Whats the one thing you hate about keeping chickens ?I love having our chickens, but there is one thing I hate and one thing my Lawn Mower hates, is their ability to kick stones into the lawn !!!!!!
What do you hate about keeping the little blighters ?
Re: Whats the one thing you hate about keeping chickens ?I hate having to keep them in their run most of the time to keep them safe - wish they could just wonder around at will without having to worry about predators

Re: Whats the one thing you hate about keeping chickens ?Agreed, we let ours out all day, but yesterday, we saw a fox in broad daylight !!!!!
Re: Whats the one thing you hate about keeping chickens ?Having one PTS because there is absolutely nothing that can be done.
No problem can withstand the power of continuous thought.
Re: Whats the one thing you hate about keeping chickens ?I don't think there's anything I hate as such, obviously it's extremely sad when we loose one of our girls.
Things are a bit more hard work during the winter months, but generally it's pretty much a pleasure having them. Something I don't like, just thought - I don't like it when folks wrongly assume that we're going to 'eat' our girl if we loose them Bev x
Our family: my-Lovely-Hubbly and I, Benny and our two little Ladies - Betty and Gloria. RIP dear little Ladies - Lottie, Cottie, Elsie, Dottie, Hilda and Margie. You may have gone, but are never ever forgotten.

That won't happen in my house !!
Re: Whats the one thing you hate about keeping chickens ?It doesn't happen here either Paul, but I've had 'friends' joke about that when we've sadly lost girls

2 lovely new girls 19-01-2015~~ Chelsea and Ruby. Eva , Florry , Poppy ,Annie and Rosie R.I.P The key to everything is patience. You get the chicken by hatching the egg, not by smashing it.” - unknown
Re: Whats the one thing you hate about keeping chickens ?
They leave our lawn alone on the whole tbh. They make our borders bigger though We only have 2, so I suppose if we had more, more damage would be done Re: Whats the one thing you hate about keeping chickens ?The one thing I hate about keeping chickens is...

Re: Whats the one thing you hate about keeping chickens ? yes they're right little poop-machines aren't they

Re: Whats the one thing you hate about keeping chickens ?For me, it's not so much poo as badly placed poo. I should think that is a bit of a shock to those who have not had poltury before but how they manage to get it down the coop wall, in their water, despite it being rasied off the floor and suposedly " poo proof". In their food bowls, on each other.........they clearly have their own olympic sporting events who can do it the highest, longest ... syncronized... freestyle... the last event having gained in popularity following the discovery that they DO in fact LIKE spring greens after all !!
