Marking eggs

Post by Paddy62 »

We have a duck sitting on we would like to know how to mark the eggs with the date as she is stealing the other eggs so we really need to mark the eggs

You have to be careful as duck shell is very porous. Perhaps a small pencil mark at one end. Small piece of sicky tape on the end.

I can confirm that pencils work fine, I was afraid, atfirst, that the constant contact on the egg shell would erase the pencil marks, but it doesn't. Would it be possible to use colour pencils to try and give each duck their own colour, or should I rely on different markings with standard pencils?
