just gone back out the garden to pick these to freeze for Christmas dinner...
Re: Jannie's 2012 DiaryWell done Jannie, I do love seeing your pictures and everybody else's too
My beans were a bit slow to start off with, but they're going great guns now and we've had three or four lots Bev x

Re: Jannie's 2012 DiaryI can't believe it's over a month since I've been able to update on here .. keeping my fingers crossed that my broadband connection holds now!!
Still producing enough veg to keep us fed .. The runner beans are still producing .. though picking every other day now with most going in the freezer whilst we make the most of the salad crops Despite the poor summer this has been a good year for tomatoes.. Not such a good year for apples ..lots rotted on the trees so decided to pick the rest last week ..just about enough for my chutneys and for freezing some for winter deserts .. I tried a new variety of cucumber this year called picolino .. it produces lots of mini cucumbers which the grandkids love ..
Re: Jannie's 2012 DiaryA good year for tomatoes , think a few of us may disagree there Jannie !
Glad the internet is back on for you - your garden diary is always a treat and one of the reasons I will try again next year - it has to be my turn at some point. It will be alright in the end , if its not alright, it isn't the end .
Quote from the proprietor of the The best exotic Marigold Hotel for the elderly and beautiful Re: Jannie's 2012 DiaryAww Jannie how I love you but sometimes I want to ban you and now is one of them! I hope you have entered the vegetable show Absolutely brilliant show.
Re: Jannie's 2012 DiaryJannie, your produce looks so good, I am so I have had loads of green tomatoes, just made chutney, I hope to do a diary next year, you inspire.
Re: Jannie's 2012 DiaryAww thanks !!
Hope you do start a diary next year Mrs Boodles Annie you should ask Perchy for advice ..she has certainly taught me a thing or two about growing tomatoes Perchy I will put some put some entries in the veg show .. any categories I'm banned from? Re: Jannie's 2012 DiaryAll of them Jannie
Mrs Boodles, you will love the camaraderie of the diaries, and Jannie will be keeping an eye on the thread and judging photo's so she can't post any pics herself, that would be cheating Re: Jannie's 2012 Diary
Re: Jannie's 2012 DiaryDid I mention I've got a new camera !!
Re: Jannie's 2012 Diary
Re: Jannie's 2012 DiaryWell I feared the worst when hubby woke me this morning to tell me we'd had a frost last night!!!! ... I checked the green house and apart from being full of condensation was fine ..still a load of tomatoes despite having made chutneys and frozen batches for sauces..
The big cucumbers have almost finished but the mini ones are producing loads.. The runner bean plants are looking scruffy now but still lots of beans coming .. they seems to love my chicken poo tea and plenty of greens to eat .. the chard has done particularly well this year..
Re: Jannie's 2012 DiaryWOW, Jannie. thats certainly some super stuff. Its getting a bit nippy here but no frost as yet.
