Door bell!!!!Door bell!!!!Can anyone help. I have a Doorman bell (Friedland i think), plug in one.As my door faces West the rain has got in the bell push and it no longer works. Can I get a bell push that will work it or have I got to buy the whole thing again
Marianx Re: Door bell!!!!It looks like you can replace the doorbell part.
http://www.mrdoorbell.com/Friedland-Doorman-Wireless-Replacement-Bell-Push-WFDC879-p-173.html You may even find them on evilbay Or if you know someone fairly good with electronics/electrics, they should be able to open the unit and see if its just the contacts that need cleaning. If a man is alone in the garden and speaks, and there is no woman to hear him, is he still wrong?
Re: Door bell!!!!Wish mine didn't work. Keeps rining and no one there.

Thanks for that Ill have a look Ive been in trouble with my daughters over Christmas for not answering the door Wendy Ive had that too but who ever it is Ive changed the tune on mine so I know who its for.!! Ive been told even a car zapper will set it off, Wish it was easy to get an electric one out there and change the direction of the weather we have always had trouble with the rain getting in the bell pushes. Think Ill cover the next one with cling film!! Thanks for you're help Marianx Re: Door bell!!!!Hi Wendy
If your doorbell is a wireless one from a DIY shed, it may be that you just left it on the same frequency as when you bought it. They are all set on the same frequency out of the factory. Neighbours who have done the same will all have their bells ringing when just one button is pushed. Have a look in the back of the 'chime' or ringer box inside your house and you would see a little dial with a choice of (probably) 16 frequencies which you change with a small screwdriver - ditto on the exterior button. Change frequencies on both (to match of course) and the problem should cease. If you are a sociable person and know your neighbours up to about 50 metres away you can all get together with some bottles of wine and choose a different frequency each. If there are no little dials, or if there is a wire from the button to the chime then forget all the above as I don't know. Cheers Mike
Re: Door bell!!!!We got rid of the back doorbell soon after moving in here, because it was doing the same as yours Wendy - it would be silent for ages, sometimes not even working when it was pressed, and then randomly sound at 3am I need to get another one really, but haven't got round to it yet.
