That's a lot of wood!
That's a lot of wood!Today, I went to collect ten, 7"x2"x12' reclaimed joists I got on e bay for just £26!
Ok, I had to pick them up from York, 70 mile round trip and around a tender in diesel. After a couple of hours work with the circular saw and half an hour denailing left me with this; Ten 3"x2" and Fifteen 2"x2" Around Some days you're the pigeon, some days you're the statue.
Re: That's a lot of wood!Thats a load of usefull timber for that money Steve.

Re: That's a lot of wood!Should be a tenner in diesel, not tender lol, stupid iPad autocorrect
A lot of it got used today making a frame for a roofed pergola at the back of my house. We figured the amount of bad weather we get it would make the patio more useable. Some days you're the pigeon, some days you're the statue.
Re: That's a lot of wood!Heck of a good buy, Steve. I have to buy some 4"x4"s soon to be used in putting up a roof over the back door of my cabin and I know they are not cheap. Good for you.
Re: That's a lot of wood!Great bargain Steve looking forward to the photos (or Perchy will be round!)

Re: That's a lot of wood! but the only problem we'd have is transporting it.. thats one heck of a bargain though!!!

Re: That's a lot of wood!
I had it all on the roof bars of my berlingo van, perhaps a little overloaded, I reckon each joist weighed 30kilo and the roof bars are rated at 100 Wish I'd taken a photo This is the pergola so far, need to decide on roof panels for it I got the idea after seeing what Al had done to his back garden, so it's all his fault! Some days you're the pigeon, some days you're the statue.
Re: That's a lot of wood!Looking good Steve.
Do we need to discuss royalties on the idea? Relax, I could have been a twin.
Re: That's a lot of wood! Our works van is a Berlingo, you got that lot on there? the poor thing must have had about 1/2 inch road clearance with that load !!

It's a 2.0hdi with 800k payload, you'd be surprised at what she can carry Al, you can discuss royalties if you like but you'll get nowt Some days you're the pigeon, some days you're the statue.
Re: That's a lot of wood!Thats pretty much what I thought.
